Locations
Atopic dermatitis, also known as eczema, is a chronic skin condition that can make your skin feel dry, itchy, and sore. It can come and go, showing up as red, irritated patches that may make daily life uncomfortable and have an impact on sleep, physical comfort and self-confidence.
Flare ups of symptoms can be caused by a wide range of triggers including changes in temperature, allergens in the environment or food, stress, certain clothing or fabrics and hormonal changes. With eczema, your skin’s protective layer is a bit weaker, which makes it more susceptible to irritants.
Current treatments include topical creams and corticosteroids, but these options don’t always provide lasting relief so there is a need for more effective treatment. Momentum is conducting a clinical research study exploring a potential new medicine designed to ease eczema symptoms such as itching and inflammation and potentially restore the skin barrier.
Participants will be randomly assigned to receive two subcutaneous (under the skin) injections of either the investigational product or a placebo (inactive substance).
You’ll attend regular clinic visits for skin assessments, blood tests and study related health checks. Your safety and well-being will be closely monitored by a professional medical team throughout the study.
