Description
Non-cystic fibrosis bronchiectasis (NCFB) is a chronic lung condition that affects the airways. It is a serious and often debilitating disease that makes it harder for people to breathe and fight off lung infections. Normal function of the lungs is disrupted, leading to a buildup of mucus that is difficult to clear. Over time, this cycle of infection and damage worsens, making the airways even more prone to problems.
This condition can impact a person’s ability to enjoy physical activity, and socialising and can result in frequent medical visits and courses of antibiotics.
