Description

Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is one of the leading causes of health issues in New Zealand. While statins and other medications may help, they are not enough for everyone.

About the study treatment:
This is a potential oral medication, not an injection. It’s being studied as a possible future option for people who don’t respond well to current treatments or prefer tablets over needles.

What to expect

• Participants get study-related medical care and advice from our doctors and research team, and any information you share will be kept confidential
• We can arrange taxis if required, we also offer free parking at our clinics, and flexible appointment times for our volunteers
• MedSafe and the Health & Disability Ethics Committee (HDEC) have given their approval for this study to run here in New Zealand

If you or a loved one has had a heart event or struggles with high cholesterol, this study may help make future treatment better.
