Chronic Kidney Disease occurs when the kidneys gradually lose their ability to filter waste from the blood. In people with type 2 diabetes, damage to the kidney’s blood vessels can lead to ongoing inflammation and progressive kidney dysfunction. Living with chronic kidney disease is about more than managing a medical condition. It can affect many areas of life — from physical health to emotional wellbeing and everyday routines. For many people, the challenges of CKD aren’t always visible, but they are felt every day. While current treatments can slow progression, they don’t work for everyone.
This study is evaluating an investigational injectable medication designed to help stabilise blood vessels in the kidneys and reduce inflammation. The study compares the investigational medication with a placebo, and all participants are closely monitored throughout.
Participants will be randomly assigned to receive either the study medication or a placebo (an inactive substance) via multiple subcutaneous injections (under the skin). During the study, participants will receive ongoing health monitoring and assessments with our professional medical team.
Your involvement in this study may help advance scientific knowledge that could contribute to the development of a new medication and better treatment for people with the same disease in the future.
