Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) occurs when the kidneys gradually lose their ability to filter waste from the blood. In people with type 2 diabetes, damage to the kidney’s blood vessels can lead to ongoing inflammation and loss of kidney function.
Living with chronic kidney disease is about more than managing a medical condition. It can affect many areas of life — from physical health to emotional wellbeing and everyday routines. For many people, the challenges of CKD aren’t always visible, but they are felt every day.
