Dr. Quinn is a senior principal investigator at Momentum Clinical Research Wellington, specialising in early phase clinical trials. With over 20 years of experience in clinical trials, he is dedicated to advancing clinical research and improving patient outcomes.
Dr. Quinn earned his BSc (Hons) from Victoria University in 1988. Having developed a fascination with physiology as an undergraduate, he completed an MBChB at Otago University in 1993. Over the years, Dr. Quinn has become particularly passionate about Respiratory and Metabolic (obesity and diabetes), finding fulfillment is advancing research and seeing the real changes this can make to the lives of his patients.
Dr. Quinn has successfully completed over 150 studies as Principal Investigator (PI) and 50 studies as Sub-Investigator (SI). These studies span various therapeutic areas, including Asthma, COPD, Coeliac disease, Obesity and Type 2 diabetes, contributing to significant advancements in clinical research.
Prior to joining Momentum Wellington, Dr. Quinn worked at P3 Research, Wellington, where he helped establish an early phase research unit in Bowen Hospital before managing the current Wellington unit, located within sight of the Wellington Regional hospital. He has gained extensive experience in managing and running a wide range of clinical trials, having also been a member of the National Ethics Committee (HDEC) for over 10 years, with numerous roles as lead investigator.
Outside of clinical work, he enjoys spending time with his family, watching, coaching and refereeing football, and is a long-suffering Wellington Phoenix FC supporter. His other interests include photography, diving, cycling, also being a strong advocate for active transport.
