Dr Derryn Brain

Dr. Brain is a clinical researcher at Momentum Clinical Research Palmerston North, specialising in General Practice/Family Medicine. With 5 months of experience in clinical trials, Dr Brain is new to the team but is dedicated to advancing clinical research and improving patient outcomes.   

Dr. Brain earned her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree from Otago University in 2006.  She has also completed additional training in General Practice (Family Medicine) and has attained Fellowship of the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners. Over the years, Dr. Brain has become particularly passionate about caring for patients throughout their life journey, finding fulfilment in both clinical practice and advancing research.  

Dr. Brain has been involved in 3 studies as Sub-Investigator (SI). These studies span various therapeutic areas, including Hyperlipidaemia and Immunisations contributing to significant advancements in clinical research.  

As well as her research work at Momentum Palmerston North, Dr. Brain also works as a General Practitioner (Family Medicine Physician) at Kauri Healthcare in Palmerston North, where she has gained extensive experience in all areas of General Practice, caring for patients across the lifespan.    

Outside of clinical work, Dr. Brain enjoys spending time with her young family, baking and reading.
