Dr Joanna Joseph

Dr Joseph is a clinical researcher at Momentum Clinical Research Wellington, specialising in primary care. With ten years of experience in clinical trials, she is dedicated to advancing clinical research and improving patient outcomes.   

Dr Joseph earned her medical degree from Edinburgh University in 1993. She has also completed additional training in General Practice and Travel Medicine and holds the PGDipTravMed qualification from the University of Otago. Over the years, Dr Joseph has become particularly interested in vaccine and dermatology trials and finds fulfilment by combining clinical practice in Urgent Care and Travel Medicine, with contributing to research in a wide range of common conditions.  

Dr Joseph has successfully completed eight studies as Principal Investigator (PI) and over 50 studies as Sub-Investigator (SI). These studies span various therapeutic areas, including dermatology, vaccine and respiratory trials, contributing to significant advancements in clinical research.  

Prior to joining Momentum Wellington, Dr Joseph worked in General Practice and Urgent Care, where she gained extensive experience in all areas of Primary Care.   

Outside of clinical work, she enjoys traveling, sea kayaking, running and reading.
