Dr Wayne Hayter

BM,BS, Dip.RACOG, FRNZCGP - Principal Investigator

Dr. Hayter is a clinical researcher at Momentum Clinical Research Palmerston North, specialising in vaccine, asthma, coeliac and cardiovascular trials. With 3 years of experience in clinical trials, he is dedicated to advancing clinical research and improving patient outcomes.   

Dr. Hayter earned his BM,BS from Flinders University in 1986. He has also completed additional training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and General Practice Fellowship and holds certifications of Diploma of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and New Zealand College Of General Practitioners Fellowship. Over the years, Dr. Hayter has become particularly passionate about Asthma, Diabetes, Cardiac Disease, Mental, finding fulfillment in both clinical practice and advancing research.  

Dr. Hayter has successfully completed / been involved 13 studies as Sub-Investigator (SI) and has just been appointed PI for 2 studies. He was also involved in 5 studies early in his GP career in Australia. These studies span various therapeutic areas, including vaccines, Coeliac disease, psoriasis, asthma, obesity and cardiac disease], contributing to significant advancements in clinical research.  

Prior to joining Momentum Palmerston North, Dr. Hayter worked at The Palms Medical Centre in Palmerston North as a GP, and currently also works as a GP at Massey Medical Centre in Palmerston North and is a Trustee of THINK Hauora Board. He gained extensive experience in General Practice, Urgent Care, Mental Health, Business Management.  

Outside of clinical work, he enjoys walking, playing guitar, family, preserving fruit and gaming.
